
WECREATE Women’s Entrepreneurship Center Global Entrepreneurship Week Activities Calendar

During the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in July, President Obama announced the development of the WECREATE Women’s Entrepreneurship Center, in partnership with Caterpillar, Inc., Caterpillar Foundation, Startup Cup, and the African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP), Kenya chapter. The brand-new Women’s Entrepreneurial Centers of Resources, Education, Access, and Training for Economic Empowerment (WECREATE)|Kenya Center is preparing for a soft opening during Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), November 16-20. The Center will provide women with tailored, experience-based education and resources to support their specific needs in starting, scaling, and growing businesses.
WECREATE | KENYA will launch its first programs during the 2015 GEW. Doors will be open to all female entrepreneurs who would like to participate in capacity-building programing and events at the center. Initial events include the following:

2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. | Workshop: Visualizing Your Way to a Better Startup – An interactive learning session with Sean Griffin about how to incorporate visual thinking into your business design, business model, and life for optimal creativity and insight.Open to the Media

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. | African Women in Tech Workshop (partner presentation).Open to the Media
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Mentor Certification – An invitation-only program aimed at expanding entrepreneurial mentorship & the Build-A-Business Workshop, a mentor-driven program designed to visually guide entrepreneurs and aimed at expanding business ideas, teaching business model design and identifying solutions that accelerate revenue growth.

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Pitch-O-Rama (Pitch Competition) – A program designed to provide a platform to showcase business models and gain invaluable feedback to take businesses to the “next level” where the winners are awarded prizes. Open to the Media

Open House – 10:00am – 4:30pm | The Open House event includes a showcase from various entrepreneurs, banks, insurance, and investment firms; a cultural show; an agricultural stand; food stands; and a family fun day. The program will celebrate female entrepreneurs and will allow the general public to learn more about the programs available at the center. Open to the Media
